Boys Basketball 2025: HKHS Soundly Defeats Morgan, 62-28

(January 8, 2025) —The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team started off 2025 with a resounding win over their Route 81 rivals from Clinton, the Morgan Huskies on January 2, 2025.

It was an all-around group effort as every member of the team scored in the 62- 28 triumph. Juniors Spencer Savoy and Declan Moriarty led the Cougars with 12 points each followed by Jay Evans with 9 and senior Cody Robinson with 8. Sophomores Kody Lehet, Mason Eighmy, Brody Ferguson and junior Ethan Pitts all saw playing time, contributing to the win.

Seniors Jake McKenzie and Joe Slane led in rebounds with 8 and 5 respectively, while senior Andrew Crayton had 5 assists and 3 steals. Continued strong defensive play by Evans, Savoy and sophomore Noah Marica helped propel the Cougars to a convincing victory. The Cougars are now 2-1 on the season. Next up for the Cougars, Valley Regional at Valley on January 3, 2025. Please note the updated game times, JV at 4:00 p.m. and Varsity at 5:30 p.m. See you on the Court.
