HVFC 2023 Annual Report

(January 26, 2024) — It was another busy year for Haddam Volunteer Fire Company! Members responded to a total of 594 calls for emergency services in 2023.

Those incidents included:
12 structure and cooking fires
15 brush fires
4 vehicle fires
71 motor vehicle accidents
307 medicals
42 hazardous conditions (utility pole fires, wires down, flammable liquid or chemical spills, gas leaks, carbon monoxide incidents, smoke scares)
31 service calls
62 false alarms

49 good intent

In 2023:

HVFC responded as mutual aid to other town a total of 20 times.

HVFC volunteers spent more than 2,765 combined hours responding to calls.
HVFC members spent an additional 2,892 manhours participating in training.

Also, the following members received years of service pins:

Ron Annino, 45 years; Scott Larson, 35 years; Franklin Pierce, 25 years; Jeff Doskos, 20 years; Zack Tiezzi, 15 years; Olivia Drake, 10 years; and Allison Halligan, 5 years.
