Fire Commissioner

Michael Reimers

Michael Reimers (D):

HK News: Tell us a little about yourself.

I have been a resident of Killingworth since 2006. We have two daughters, one living in Norwalk, with her husband and three daughters, and the other living in New York City with her husband.

HK News: Why are you running for the position?

The Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company deserves support through identification of equipment and other expenditures needed and budget requests to the Selectmen and Board of Finance. I believe my background in finance and budgeting will provide support.

HK News: What do you see as the important issues facing your town and how would you address them in your role?

The volunteers that make up the KVFC are essential to the safety of Killingworth and they need and deserve our support to maintain equipment, staffing and related training.

HK News: What are the key things you love about this town and its people?

I love the small-town feeling and sense of community.

HK News: Additional thoughts to leave voters with?

I would be honored to receive your vote.
