Herbert Hoover in a New Light: Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom
Join us for another fascinating presentation by popular local speaker Phil Devlin!
When liberal Democratic Senator Robert F. Kennedy appeared on the Dick Cavett show in the spring of 1968, Cavett asked him to name the man he most admired in American history. After pausing a few seconds, RFK looked up and said “Herbert Hoover,” to Cavett’s astonishment. Long demonized for being responsible for the Great Depression, Herbert Hoover is revered in Europe for his unmatched humanitarian efforts to save millions of lives. Many interesting anecdotes and facts about this great man will surely make viewers see him in a new light. Pre-registration is required, and can be done via the library’s calendar, found under Events & Activities on our website: https://killingworthlibrary.org/
Explore the Night Skies with Our Newest Bookmark Collectors’ Contest: Feb. 1 – 28
Winter evenings are an ideal time to study the night skies, and this bookmark collection will feature different bookmarks on a space-themed topic (given when you check out a book). Collect all four, write down the four topics (or send us a photo of you holding the bookmarks) and include your contact information, then send to mail@killingworthlibrary.org. Your name will be placed in a drawing for one new, free book your choice!
