(Middletown, CT.) Tom Byrne, Chairman of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce has announced that applications for the 2021 Middletown Summer Youth Employment Program are available online at Middlesexchamber.com or at the Chamber office, and are due on Monday June 11, 2021 by 4:30 pm. Applications should be submitted and returned to the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, 393 Main Street, Middletown.
Every year since 2006, the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce has placed Middletown students into constructive summer employment through the Middletown Summer Youth Employment Program. The chamber has the capacity, through our dynamic membership, to place these youth into employment in a wide variety of professional fields for six weeks in the summer months working up to 20 hours per week. Our host sites come from the public sector, the non-profit sector, and most notably the private sector.
“This program teaches our young people not only the fundamentals of employment, such as getting to work on time and ready to contribute, but also the pride that comes with putting in a solid work week and receiving a paycheck that was earned through hard work. We are excited to begin this program again this year,” said President of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce Larry McHugh.
Applications are also available at Middletown High School, Woodrow Wilson Middle School, Vinal Technical High School and the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce.
The program is designed to provide opportunities for economically challenged youth in the community between the ages of 14 to 21, but all interested age eligible youth are encouraged to apply for consideration.
