On Saturday, January 25, 2020 Haddam Killingworth High School hosted the Haddam Killingworth Cougar Duals. Walking in from outside, you could hear the sound of whistles, shouting, and applause coming from the gym. Six schools participated in the event and each team had five matches.
Our HK wrestling team put in an impressive performance, placing third overall behind the Guilford (Class M) and Wethersfield (Class L) teams. Stand out performances were put in by Thomas Perry, Cameron Hines, Nick Glynn, and Ben Williams, all who went 5-0 for the day. Co-Captain Cameron Hines summed up the day by stating, “We don’t have many duals in our season, so it was good to see our team be so successful. I also felt a lot of team comradery today since the dual was at HK.”
The team has their next event on Saturday, January 30, 2020 at Newington High School.
