(July 4, 2020) — A couple people thought that a car parade to celebrate the Fourth of July would be fun, so they told their friends, posted the idea on Facebook/social media, we posted it on our news website last night, and viola, a parade occurred.
This morning over 70 vehicles of all kinds — jeeps, trucks, antique cars, motorcycles, and SUVs — took part in the parade through Higganum and Haddam. People set up lawn chairs along the route, socially distanced of course, and some waved flags as the parade passed by.
The event lasted about 45 minutes.
“It was all a fantastic display of patriotism,” said Ed Munster, one of the people who was promoting the event in Haddam.
