Transit Driver Appreciation Day on 9 Town Transit (And Everywhere Else) March 18th

Submitted by 9 Town Transit

(March 17, 2023) — Saturday, March 18, 2023 is Transit Driver Appreciation Day throughout the world. We hope you’ll take a moment to thank the men and women who work hard each day to make sure you can get wherever you want to go.

Free Fares Come to an End on March 31st:   Free fares will end on Friday, March 31, 2023. Our new combined fare structure will begin April 1st. The regular fare will remain $1.75, but there are new discounts for many of our passes, and our fares will be valid across both 9 Town Transit and Middletown Area Transit routes. Tickets and passes are available for sale now, or buy them in the Token Transit app. Learn more at www.estuarytransit.org/fares.

Proposed Route Changes: As part of the recent merger of Middletown Area Transit and 9-Town Transit, Estuary Transit District is proposing a series of updates and changes to the existing routes. These proposed changes largely come from our most recent transit study; the Lower Connecticut River Valley Transit Study conducted in 2020. The primary purpose of these changes is to make service faster and more direct, improve service to under-served areas and better coordinate transfers.

Maps and descriptions of the changes are available at www.estuarytransit.org/servicechanges. Once there, you can complete our survey to provide your feedback. Formal public hearings will be held:

  • March 28, 2023 7:00 p.m. Facebook Live
  • March 29, 2023 6:30 p.m. Clinton Town Hall
  • March 30, 2023 6:00 p.m. Middletown City Hall
