(March 15, 2020) –The Town of Killingworth continues to closely monitor the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
We are encouraging residents to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing (e.g., cancelling large gatherings/meetings, working remotely when possible, and eliminating any unnecessary close contact with other people).
The Town of Killingworth is announcing the following changes to enable us to provide essential services while protecting the health of community members and town employees and officials.
Town Functions
Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 the Killingworth Town Hall will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., by appointment only, until further notice. We are operating essential services, but we will not take walk-ins for any of our services. If you need an appointment, or you wish to discuss an urgent matter over the phone, please call 860-663-1765 and leave a message in the appropriate department. Our staff will regularly check for messages.
Meetings of Killingworth boards and committees are cancelled until March 23, 2020. We will meet remotely after that.
Everyone is encouraged to do the following:
- Practice social distancing (e.g., cancel large gatherings/meetings, work remotely when possible, limit the number of people with whom you come into close contact).
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid contact with affected patients.
- Stay home when you are sick; call your healthcare provider for guidance.
- Cover your cough or sneeze into your elbow. Throw tissues away and wash your hands immediately after using.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
