(May 7, 2024) — The Haddam Sustainability Committee held its fourth annual Shredding Event on May 4, 2024 at the former Haddam Elementary School and it was a very successful event and fundraiser.
The weather could not have cooperated any better, and the change of venue from the Community Center in past years proved to be the right decision. A steady stream of cars flowed through the HES parking lot from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, at times spilling out into the road.
Thanks to the generosity of many, we raised a total of $1,388 for Haddam Social Services. In addition to raising money for a great cause, we were also able to recycle an amazing amount of material. The truck left completely full and bulging.
Thank you to everyone who came by and donated, as well as to committee members and town staff who helped throughout the day.
