Submitted by Kevin Staehly.

East Haddam, CT (Jan. 18, 2019) – Construction on Seven Sisters Estate, now commonly known as Gillette Castle, was completed in 1919 and became home to William Gillette until his death nearly 20 years later. Staehly Farm Winery is proud to announce that in honor the centennial of the completion of Gillette Castle it will be releasing a special wine made from fruit grown on its farm which is only a short distance from the historic castle. As part of this commemoration, Staehly Farm Winery is calling on local artists to submit a label design that honors the history of the Castle and William Gillette’s legacy.

The label competition began on January 14, 2019 and entries can be submitted via the Winery’s website until midnight on March 1, 2019. In addition to having their artwork featured on a wine offered for general sale throughout Connecticut, the winner will also be awarded an evening to showcase their design at a special event held later in the year as well as a certificate for a case of wine featuring their label design. The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18. Full submission requirements and additional information about the competition can be found online at www.staehlys.com/gc-label-comp.
