(March 8, 2022) — Come join the fun! Join an enthusiastic group of volunteers at the beautiful Haddam Meadows State Park for our annual spring invasive plant cleanup and trash pickup on Saturdays, April 9, 2022 (rain date April 16) and May 7 (rain date May 14) 9:000 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
Participants are asked to meet in the picnic area closest to the Transfer Station. Adults and youth, under 16 years of age accompanied by an adult, are encouraged to participate in removing oriental bittersweet and other invasives and/ or picking up trash. Current CT DEEP policy states that fully vaccinated visitors are not required to wear a face mask outdoors. Those who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear a mask outdoors when social distancing is not possible. Please dress for the weather. Wear waterproof boots, bring garden loppers or saw, insect repellent, sunscreen, water, and first aid supplies. Refreshments will be served. Do not bring pets. Volunteers with dump trucks with Haddam Transfer Station stickers are needed.
