Haddam Killingworth High School Varsity Softball defeated Cromwell 1-0 in 13 innings, a game played under protest Tuesday, May 18, 2021 and continued today, May 20, 2021. It was a pitching dual between HK Freshman Bella Richwine and Cromwell’s Lily Kenney. Bella struck out 20 and Lily struck out 27 batters. HK scored in the top of the 13th inning on a sacrifice fly, scoring, Bella Richwine who reached on a dropped fly ball to left. Madison La Touche delivered the sacrifice fly to score Bella. HK gains the #1 seed in the Shoreline Playoffs with a 15-2 overall record and will next play Monday, May 24, 2021 in a quarter-final game at home.
