Haddam Killingworth High School Varsity Softball team’s pitchers Kaleigh Bodak (4-0)and Bella Richwine combined to throw a one hit, shutout against Coginchaug. Kaleigh gave up one hit and no runs in the first 3 1/3 innings while Bella set down the next 11 Devils in a row, allowing no hits and no runs.
HK scored in the 2nd inning when Ivy McNiel doubled and scored on a Keira Czarkowski line single to center. Ivy scored again in the 6th inning when she singled and scored on a long wind blown hit to left field off the bat of Ella McGlynn. The Cougars scored two runs in the 7th inning on and infield RBI by Kat McQueeney and a RBI single by Bella Richwine. HK is now 8-0 while Coginchaug falls to 3-2
