The Haddam Killingworth High School Varsity Softball team was defeated by Old Lyme by a score of 1-0 on May 25, 2021. A pitchers duel was settled in the 7th inning when Old Lyme scored the only run of the game on an rbi single from Grace Lathrop scoring Ava Roth. Ava had singled and stole second previously. OL’s pitcher Emma Bayor had 14 strikeouts and allowed only 2 hits. HK’s Bella Richwine yielded just 5 hits and struck out 12. It was the first loss of the season for Bella HK record is 16-3, while Old Lyme goes to 14-6. Old Lyme plays for the SLC Championship Thurs.
