The Haddam Killingworth High School Varsity Softball team (#19) defeated Wilcox Tech (#14) in the first round of the CIAC Class M State Tournament on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, with a final score of HK 16, Wilcox Tech 0.Faith Mauri paced the HK offense with 2 long home runs and a triple. She drove in 6 runs. Shannon Nelson and Ella McGlynn each had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Audrey Snyder had 2 hits and scored 3 runs. Brooke LaTouche picked up the win throwing 5 innings of 1 hit ball. She was relieved by Faith Torello who completed the shutout allowing just 2 singles over the last two innings. HK plays at Waterford tomorrow, May 30, 2019 in round 2 of the Class “M” Tournament at 4:00 p.m.
