On Wednesday, May 8, 2019, the Haddam Killingworth High School softball team defeated Morgan High School with a final score of HK 8, Morgan 4. Haddam-Killingworth gained its 8th win of the season and qualified for the Shoreline and State Tournaments with the win. HK’s big inning was the 4th when they scored 4 runs to take a 6-3 lead. The big hit was a 2-run double with the bases loaded for Faith Mauri. Brooke LaTouche picked up the win with help from Faith Torello in the 7th inning. Faith got the final 3 outs on a fly out, pop up and strikeout for the save. Morgan’s Maggie Mohory had a two-run triple for the Huskies. HK improves to 8-6, while Morgan drops to 4-13. Cougars next play Friday,May 10, 2019 at Canton.
