RSD 17 Presents Master Plan, Seeks Community Guidance Through Survey

Submitted by Kerry Markey

(May 23, 2023) — On May 9, 2023, Regional School District 17 held the first in a series of Community Conversations regarding the District’s Master Plan. The Master Plan will guide the District over the next 20+ years. It considers teaching and learning needs, the state of the facilities, available land/buildings, and a demographic study. The goal is to decide as a community on the best options for RSD17 school buildings and to bring the final decision to a referendum in 2024.

Before any planning options are developed, or any decisions are made, RSD17 is asking community members to complete a short survey in order to gather community input about what, if anything, is lacking in the school buildings and what residents want to see for the future of RSD17. The survey can be found at bit.ly/3WoHlzL. Please complete this survey by Monday, June 19, 2023.

All presentations and documentation regarding the Master Plan project can be located on the Master Plan Project website: sites.google.com/rsd17.org/masterplanproject/home.

The recording and presentation from the first Community Conversation can also be found on the website.
