(September 15, 2023) — Sacred Heart on the Lake Retreat Center will hold two retreat days in October and November at the Center located at 194 Candlewood Hill Road in Higganum. Details are as follows:
RETREAT DAY: October 21, 2023, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. “The Eucharist: Realizing Jesus’s Presence Through The Eucharist On Our Life Road With Him.” The Retreat Director will be Sr. Lany Jo Smith, ASCJ. The Eucharist is the very sacrifice of the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus which He instituted to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross throughout the ages until His return in glory. Thus He entrusted to His Church this memorial of His Death and Resurrection. The Eucharist has always been one of the most important aspects of Christianity. The Catechism of the Catholic Church strongly asserts the “Real Presence” of Jesus’s body in the Eucharist; this is to say that the sacrament is not symbolic of the body and blood of Jesus, but rather that it is his body and blood.
A donation of $35 is asked; includes a continental breakfast and a full lunch. Reservations are necessary- register online at sacredheartonthelake.org; email info@sacredheartonthelake.org; or call Sr. Lany Jo at 203-606-9102
RETREAT DAY: November 4, 2023, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Experiences in Prayer: How To Open Our Hearts & Minds To A Growing Personal Relationship With God. The Retreat Director will be Sr. Lany Jo Smith, ASCJ. Christianity is a faith based on a very personal and communal relationship with The Father, The Son, Jesus Christ, and God’s Holy Spirit. During this day of retreat we will explore some of the ways we can recognize and hear God’s voice speaking to us through God’s Word in Scripture, The Word made Flesh in the person of Jesus, and from God’s Holy Spirit living within us and through the Sacraments of The Church, The Body of Christ.
A donation of $35 is asked; includes a continental breakfast and a full lunch. Reservations are necessary- register online at sacredheartonthelake.org; email info@sacredheartonthelake.org or call Sr. Lany Jo at 203-606-9102.
