Visit the Calendar on the library’s website – killingworthlibrary.org – or call 860-663-2000. The library is located at 301 Route 81 in Killingworth.

Drive-In Movie Nights – Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., and Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. Got a spare box sitting around the house? Decorate it with paper plate wheels (and any other designs you like) and bring it to the library for a “drive-in” movie! Sit in your “car” in the children’s room, enjoy a bag of SmartFood popcorn, and enjoy the evening’s feature film: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Sleigh on December 3rd, and Horton Hears a Who on December 17th.

Make a Holiday Graham Cracker House – Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. Come hear Mrs. Fig read the book Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett. Then, create your own “gingerbread” house out of graham crackers! We will decorate our houses with royal icing and various candies. Suitable for ages Pre-K through Grade 3.

Holiday Stamping – Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. Need some special wrapping for a holiday gift? Unique gift tags? Join us for an hour of holiday stamping. For ages 3 and up, and their adults – bring a special friend, grandparent, or cousins to this festive workshop.

Taylor Swift Birthday Party – Wednesday, December 11, 2024, two sessions. For middle and high schoolers: 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; for elementary and intermediate grades: 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Come dressed in your Taylor Swift attire and/or plenty of sparkles! We’re celebrating Taylor’s 35th birthday! Are you ready for it? Meet up with other Swifties – we’ll make bracelets, test our Taylor trivia knowledge, decorate sugar cookies, try Taylor’s favorite candy, and take photos in the Swiftie Photo Op Spot. And dancing is highly recommended! You also will have a chance to drop off your Tic Tac Taylor game sheets – December 11th is the deadline. We’ll draw the winners on December 13th.

Return to Vietnam – Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. Jerry Augustine, author of Vietnam Beyond, will be joining us to speak about his experiences in Vietnam — both as a soldier, and as a returning visitor after the end of the war. He will be presenting a slide show with both wartime and contemporary imagery of Vietnam. Space is limited, so please register in advance.
