Outdoor Track 2022: HKHS Boys & Girls Come Away with Two Victories

On Thursday, April 28, 2022 the Haddam Killingworth High School boys and girls track teams traveled to Clinton to compete in a tri-meet against Morgan and North Branford.  Both the boys and girls team came away with two victories on the day as the boys defeated Morgan by a score of 101-31 and North Branford by a score of 127-10 to improve their dual meet season record to 4-0.  Leading the way for the Cougars were the following event winners: John Panzera 110 hurdles (18.4) and 300 hurdles (48.6), Alex Lara 1600 (5:11), Kevin Cavrell 400 (54.0) javelin (107’4″) and shot put (35’10”), Aidan Law 200 (23.9) long jump (21’1.5″) and high jump (5’6″), Evan Baird 3200 (11:19), Andres Montes triple jump (38’3″) and Jared Frith discus (79’0″).  The boys 4×800 and 4×400 relays were also victorious on the afternoon.

The H-K girls team also went 2-0 on the day to improve their dual meet record to 4-0 on the season as they defeated Morgan by a score of 100-31 and beat North Branford 119-11. Leading the way for the Cougars were the following event winners: Brianna Nugent 100 hurdles (17.6), Izzy Berardino 1600 (6:04), Leah Sosnowski 300 hurdles (52.9), Olivia Macaluso 800 (2:46.3), Mariella Fulcher 200 (27.5), Kaleigh Nelligan 3200, Jess Timothy long jump (15’4″) and high jump (4’8″), Ly-Linh Criscuolo triple jump (33’4.5″), Scarlett Strom discus (77’3″) shot put (25’10”) and javelin (78’6″). The girls 4×800 and 4×400 relay teams were also victorious on the afternoon to contribute to the teams’ win.

 

The track teams will next be in action on Tuesday May 3, 2022, as they host Valley Regional and Westbrook at the Dick Dupuis Track.
