Outdoor Track 2021: HKHS Boys & Girls Defeat Morgan

On Tuesday, April 27, 2021 the Haddam Killingworth boys and girls track teams continued their dual meet season as they competed in an away meet in Clinton against Morgan High School.

Both the boys and girls team came away with victories on the day as the boys defeated Morgan by a score of 125-12 to improve their record to 2-0.  Leading the way for the Cougars were the following event winners: Eamon Sweeney 110 hurdles (15.2) 300 hurdles (42.7) javelin (143’8″) and high jump (6’0″), Matthew Jennings 400 (51.1), John Bruder shot put (50’1″) and discus (117’6″), Andrew Hedges 3200 (10:36), Caleb Freeman 1600 (4:53), John Kowal 100 (11.6) 200 (23.8) and long jump (19’8″).  The boys 4×800 and 4×400 relays were also victorious on the day helping the team score valuable points.

The H-K girls team also improved their record to 2-0 as they beat Morgan by a score of 124-14. Leading the way for the Cougars were the following event winners: Mai-Ly Criscuolo won the 100 hurdles (17.1) and 300 hurdles (51.5), Kedarjah Lewis 100 (12.1), the 200 (26.2) long jump (18’2″) and triple jump (33’3″), Meara Bodak 1600 (5:53) and 3200 (13:16), Jess Timothy high jump (4’8″), Gabby Lester shot put (26’1″) and discus (85’4″), Scarlet Strom javelin (74’3″), Brianna Minervino 800 (2:43) and Layla Hayward 400 (88.3). The girls 4×800 and 4×400 relays were also victorious on the afternoon to propel the girls to their victory.    

 

The track teams will next be in action on Tuesday May 4, 2021 as they host Valley Regional at the Dick Dupuis Track and then on Saturday May 8th as they travel to Danbury to compete in the CT Classic Invitational.
