Boys Tennis 2023: Lyme-Old Lyme’s Depth Prevails in 5-2 Victory over HKHS

(April 22, 2023) In an away match played on the courts at Lyme-Old Lyme High School, Haddam Killingworth High School was defeated 5-2 on April 21, 2023. Cougars Sophomore Bryce Leiberman defeated Lyme-Old Lyme’s previously unbeaten Cooper Munson at number one singles in straight sets, taking the first set in a tiebreak.

Eddie White’s win in straight sets at #2 singles was a solid performance for the Cougars. “Lyme-Old Lyme has depth at all positions,” said HK Coach Rod Pakus, “which turned the match in their favor after our singles wins.  We were unable to match their experience and depth in all other matches played. Our guys learned a good lesson today, both from those wins and our losses.”
