Lisa Ann Ogilvie of Higganum, and formerly Centreville, Virginia, passed away quietly in her sleep early on Thanksgiving morning, November 24, 2022, at the age of 64. She died of medical complications resulting from three years of multiple myeloma (blood cancer).

Born on 6 August 1958 in Middletown, she was the daughter of Edith I. (Bartman) Williams and the late Richard F. Williams, Jr.  Lisa grew up in Higganum attending Haddam public schools and Woodrow Wilson High School in Middletown. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in education with a specialization in Home Economics from Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire.  Upon graduation in 1980, she married Jeff and moved to Northern Virginia. Lisa joined the Central Intelligence Agency and served 29 years, including 5 years in foreign assignments in Moscow USSR, and Germany. Trained in CIA field operations tradecraft, her primary job responsibilities were in Budget and Finance.  After 30 years in Virginia, she retired in 2010 and took on the general contracting role for the building of her retirement home in Higganum. Lisa loved doing community service activities, starting as a child in Girl Scouts and the youth group at Higganum Congregational Church. Her children, Jenny and Wes, have been her inspiration and life’s focus, more recently intensified with the arrival this year of her granddaughter, Danielle. Lisa also enjoyed spending time throwing frisbees and handing out treats to her two silver Labrador retrievers, Bella and Abby. In her retirement, she led the establishment of the Higganum United Methodist Church’s (HUMC) annual Vacation Bible School, and served as treasurer for the Friends of Brainerd Memorial Library in Haddam.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Jeffrey Thomas Ogilvie, and two children, Dr. Jennifer Ann Evans (Craig Evans) of Glen Bernie, Maryland, and Wesley Thomas Ogilvie of Collinsville, Illinois. She has one granddaughter, Danielle Ann Evans. In addition to her mother, Edith I. Williams, Lisa leaves one brother, Richard L. Williams (Edie E. Williams) of Haddam, a niece, Kelly E. Bouchard (Joseph R. Bouchard) of Southington, and one nephew, Richard K. Williams of East Hampton.
