New Faces at Haddam Town Hall

By Meghan Peterson.

The Haddam Town Office Building has a couple of new faces to greet the townspeople in the Town Clerk’s Office.

Meet Bob Siegrist, your new Haddam Town Clerk and Dawn Tarbetsky, new Assistant Town Clerk. Bob began on January 3, 2022, with Dawn beginning on April 4.

The reporter of this article spoke with Bob and Dawn on Dawn’s second day in the house – although she is by no means a stranger to the work of a Town Clerk’s office. Dawn brings with her nine years of experience during her tenure as Assistant Town Clerk at the Westbrook Town Hall.

As Bob notes, it is “unique” to have two new clerks starting simultaneously. Also noteworthy is the oomph they bring to the table. As Town Clerk and Assistant Town Clerk, respectively, Bob and Dawn want the people of Haddam to know that they are welcoming and available for assistance with questions pertaining to matters such as:

  • Records (land records, deeds)
  • Vitals (birth, marriage, death certificates) Dog licenses
  • Hunting licenses
  • Transfer station passes
  • Fishing, hunting licenses
  • Veterans discharges
  • Genealogy requests
  • Title searches
  • Board/Commission minutes, agendas Elections – absentee ballots

Looking to the past, they express gratitude for the years of service which Scott Brookes and Ann Riebold gave to the Haddam community. Looking at the present, Bob and Dawn want the Haddam community always to feel welcomed and encouraged to come in for any help with applications, records or the like. Looking ahead, Bob and Dawn seek to implement upgrades specifically to the public computers within the Town Office Building for the purpose of enhancing accessibility and ease of use by Haddam residents.

Dawn sees the Town Clerk’s office as a “library for the town” – a repository for “information kept forever.” Her passion for assisting others is evident. For his part, Bob sees the Town Clerk’s office as an “information hub” for the people of Haddam. In no uncertain terms, Bob explains that he and Dawn are dedicated and eager to provide people here in Haddam “with professionalism and assistance.”

Hours are:

Monday – Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

In the words of Bob and Dawn, “we are a team, and we are learning together!” Drop by the Town Office Building and say hello.
