Nathaniel B. Field Memorial Foundation Co-Sponsors Health Fair September 17th

(August 24, 2024) — A Health and Wellness Fair co-sponsored by the Polish Falcons of America Nest 519 and the Nathaniel B. Field Memorial Foundation, Inc. will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the PFA Grove building, 144 Prout Hill Road in Middletown. This is a free event, and all are welcome to attend. Rain or Shine.

A variety of local businesses and organizations will be present to share their services and resources, and live demonstrations will be held. The following is a sampling of participating agencies:

  • Alanon/Alateen – supporting people who have alcoholism in their families;
  • Alliance for Prevention and Wellness – prevents substance abuse, suicide, and problem gambling;
  • Autumn Sage, LLC – will do reiki sessions and will discuss tapping and breath work;
  • Body Focus Therapeutic Massage and Ashiatsu – will provide brief chair massages;
  • Change Incorporated – provides non-medical homecare and behavioral health services;
  • Collaborative ABA Services, LLC – a behavioral health practice specializing in ABA services, among others, for children and families impacted by autism and other behavioral disorders;
  • Connecticut Lifestyle Medicine;
  • Connecticut State Library for Accessible Books;
  • Cornerstone Counseling Center – outpatient counseling center that partners with local schools;
  • Eye Song Health – will talk about iridology analysis and herbalism;
  • Fidelco Guide Dog – trains German Shepherds to guide visually impaired people;
  • Gilead Community Services, Inc. – provides mental health and addiction services;
  • Guided Healing, LLC – will offer reflexology;
  • Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service;
  • JP Holistic Health Coach, LLC – an internationally certified holistic health coach;
  • Middlesex Health Beit Paley Center – offers mental health services;
  • Middlesex YMCA;
  • Middletown Health Department – will discuss their seasonal vaccination clinics and tobacco cessation program;
  • Middletown Police Department – will bring “K-9 Bear,” a crisis intervention dog;
  • Middletown South Fire District – will do a cooking fire demonstration along with basic CPR skills;
  • Nathaniel B. Field Memorial Foundation, Inc. – suicide prevention and mental health awareness;
  • Nutmeg Pharmacy Higganum – will be doing a free flu clinic and will discuss their new diabetic education program which is the first in Connecticut;
  • Responsible Play Connecticut – will bring their van with free resource materials;
  • Rose Transforms, LLC – a health coach, reiki master and sound healer will discuss mindfulness techniques;
  • Vitathena Wellness – offers personalized nutrition consultation and will speak to the benefits of humming;
  • Wadsworth Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation Center – short and long term care facility;

 

G-Monkey Food Truck will be on sight to sell healthy snacks and meals. Please stop by on September 17th.

 

The mission of the Nathaniel B. Field Memorial Foundation, Inc. is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, to reduce the stigma of mental illness, and to provide hope and support.
