(Middletown, CT)– Mayor Benjamin Florsheim of the City of Middletown announced that the city plans to commemorate Pride Month, 2021, with a crosswalk dedication on Main Street and a flag raising ceremony at City Hall on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
The crosswalk on Main Street (central block between Washington and Court Streets at 386 Main Street) has been painted in honor of Pride Month and the return of Middletown Pride. The crosswalk stretches across the entirety of Main Street, and it incorporates the design of the Quasar Progress Pride Flag. A dedication of the crosswalk featuring local dignitaries and Middletown Pride 2021 Grand Marshals will take place at 11:30 a.m.
A flag raising ceremony at the City of Middletown Municipal Building will take place immediately following the Crosswalk Dedication at approximately 12:15 p.m. For the first time in this now four-year tradition, the Quasar Progress Pride Flag will be raised on the City of Middletown’s official flag pole. The flag will fly for the entire month of June.
