Middletown Celebrates Pride Month

(May 29, 2024) — Middletown Mayor Benjamin Florsheim has announced that the city plans to commemorate Pride Month, 2024, with a crosswalk dedication on Main Street and a flag raising ceremony at City Hall on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

The crosswalk on Main Street (central block between Washington and Court Streets at 386 Main Street) has been painted in honor of Pride Month.  The crosswalk stretches across the entirety of Main Street, and it incorporates the design of the Quasar Progress Pride Flag.

A dedication of the crosswalk featuring local dignitaries and Middletown Pride 2024 Grand Marshals will take place at 10:00 a.m.  Following the crosswalk dedication, the group will head to City Hall for the City’s sixth annual flag raising, where the Mayor will issue a Mayoral proclamation for Pride Month.  The flag will fly for the entire month of June.

The Sixth Annual Middletown PrideFEST will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024 (rain date Sunday, June 2, 2024) from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in downtown Middletown.

PrideFEST is an all-afternoon street fair on Main Street, Middletown that combines exhibitors, entertainers, food, activities for all ages, including a 21+ area, and will feature our Pride March (1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.), Pride Rally on the South Green (2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.), and two Pride Showcase Concerts (4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.) and a Tea Dance Party (7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.).
