(May 26, 2022)—Middlesex Health’s new Burris Center for Integrative Medicine will hold a public open house on June 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Center, which is located on the third floor of 540 Saybrook Road in Middletown. Masks are required.
Integrative medicine is a holistic medical approach that takes into account a patient’s lifestyle habits. The mind, body and soul are taken into consideration to promote health and well-being.
The services that will be offered aim to address both physical and emotional symptoms of chronic conditions, such as digestive disorders and diabetes. It also can alleviate pain associated with cancer therapy and alleviate general symptoms of stress and anxiety. The goal is to help a person feel well in mind, body and spirit. Services offered will include acupuncture, reflexology, massage, nutrition counseling, lifestyle medicine, mental wellness and osteopathic medicine.
The new space features treatment rooms for various modalities, mental wellness consultations and nutrition counseling and a larger room for a variety of group programs.
Middlesex Health has offered integrative medicine services for many years. This expansion allows all services to now be offered at one Middletown location with ample space – the Burris Center for Integrative Medicine. Integrative Medicine services also will continue to be offered in Westbrook.
Integrative therapy is not always covered by medical insurance. Anyone can make an appointment to benefit from the therapies offered. You do not need a referral from a medical provider.
