Middlesex Health Marks Fifteen Years of goPINK+ on October 17th

Submitted by Amanda Falcone, Middlesex Health

(September 27, 2024) — 2024 marks fifteen years of goPINK+, a fundraising campaign that benefits Middlesex Health Cancer Center.

Throughout its history, goPINK+ has raised more than $424,000 for the cancer center. All proceeds help cancer patients, including patients who have breast cancer, receive free integrative medicine therapy.

Integrative medicine includes massage therapy, reflexology and acupuncture. These are therapies that are not covered by insurance, and they help patients with symptoms of cancer treatment, including fatigue, pain and even nausea.

This year’s goPINK+ Party will be held October 17, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Esca Restaurant and Wine Bar, 437 Main Street in Middletown. Tickets are $25 and include appetizers, a silent auction and a cash bar.

At the party, goPINK+ will honor Dr. Sally Irons for her years of service to patients and to the community as an obstetrician-gynecologist.

“What the Duck?” also returns this October. Since 2022, businesses and organizations in Middletown and throughout Middlesex County purchase and decorate wooden ducks to help raise awareness of early cancer detection. The ducks will be on display throughout the month of October. Members of the public will be able to vote for their favorite duck.

In addition, there are several other ways to support goPINK+. You can make a general donation or a donation in honor of Dr. Irons. Local businesses and schools will also raise money for goPINK+ throughout the month of October. All support is welcome.

“We are so grateful for goPINK+ and the generosity of the businesses and individuals who participate,” said Sarah Moore, Middlesex Health’s Executive Director of Development. “Proceeds directly benefit cancer patients in our community. Every donation – big or small – helps them as they navigate their cancer journey.”
