(Middletown, CT.) Chairman Tom Byrne of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce announced that the Central Regional Tourism District, housed at the Middlesex Chamber, hosted a successful Brochure Swap this past Friday at the Courtyard by Marriott Hartford Cromwell.
The Brochure Swap was created by the Central Regional Tourism District to help support Connecticut tourism businesses that are struggling due to the pandemic. 65 Central Connecticut Tourism Representatives, as well as Middlesex Chamber Members, were invited to this outdoor Brochure Swap to share and exchange brochures to help visitors and residents explore Connecticut’s hidden gems!
In case you missed the Brochure Swap, all brochures can be found in the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce’s Tourism Room that displays all of the Central Regional Tourism District brochures along with Member brochures that advertise things to do in our great state.
The Middlesex Chamber and the Central Regional Tourism District is also ramping up to help promote CT Trails Day and Connecticut Open House Day in partnership with Connecticut Office of Tourism. These particular days will also help residents and visitors explore Connecticut’s fascinating world of history, art, culture, nature, adventure, and more!
CT Trails Day is a two-day national event, held on the first weekend in June that pays tribute to all of the wonderful trails our state has to offer. This year, CT Trails Day will be on Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6, 2021. If there was ever a time to celebrate our amazing Connecticut trails, 2021 is that time! Trails and open spaces have become the places to escape to and enjoy in challenging times. This year’s Trails Day will be different, but the spirit will be the same. To register, visit the CT Forest & Park Association’s website, www.ctwoodlands.org/ct-trails-weekend.
Connecticut Open House Day, now in its 17th year, is an annual event that will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021. The purpose of this event is to inspire Connecticut residents to experience local treasures in their own backyard, with the anticipation that they will become local ambassadors who will recommend these experiences to other visitors.
Connecticut Open House Day, hosted by the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce’s partner, the Connecticut Office of Tourism, has been reimagined in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting restrictions, offering in-person and virtual experiences. Residents will find a variety of experiences to explore from museums, arts and cultural venues, historical sites, galleries, nature centers and other attractions online at www.CTvisit.com/CTOpenHouseDay.
Middlesex Chamber Vice President and Executive Director of the Central Regional Tourism District Johanna Bond noted, “CT Trails Day and Connecticut Open House Day have always been a fantastic way for residents to discover and rediscover the diverse offerings in our beautiful state. I would like to encourage everyone to venture out to Connecticut’s wonderful trails and explore our partner, Connecticut Office of Tourism’s website, www.CTvisit.com on Connecticut Open House Day!”
