(Middletown, CT.) Chairman Tom Byrne of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce announced that the chamber is partnering with Workforce Alliance, the state’s south-central workforce investment board, on a new youth employment program that will help the community fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible youth will be placed into subsidized work experiences that are dedicated to COVID mitigation. These employment experiences include assisting at COVID-19 testing sites, and working with small businesses that have been impacted by the pandemic.
Those interested in applying should contact Lorenzo Marshall at the chamber at 860-347-6924 or lorenzo@middlesexchamber.com. All program applicants must be at least 18 years old.
In addition to a completed application, required documentation includes: Birth Certificate of Applicant, Social Security Card of Applicant, document(s) that establish identity, and proof of family income which will establish program eligibility. Details are included in the program application.
The chamber building is currently closed to the public, and applications are only being accepted by mail or email. Those who are able to, should mail completed applications to:
