Possums with Ferncroft Wildlife Rescue – Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Meigs Point Nature Center
Come meet Pamela and William Lefferts, licensed wildlife rehabilitators. They will also bring  Lavendar and Rudy, 2 non releasable Opossums that will be visiting from Ferncroft Wildlife Rescue in Woodstock Ct. Learn all about these important marsupials, the “ecological clean up crew that eat grubs, carion and thousands of ticks.    Learn how you can help wildlife in your own yard and what is involved in being a wildlife rehabilitator.  Space is limited, registration is required, send an email with your name, cell number and number of tickets requested (max 4) to programs@meigspointnaturecenter.org
Maple Sugaring – Saturday, February 29, 2020 – 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. During the Open House Jim Matteson will demonstrate the Native American tradition of making maple syrup using a modern, stainless steel, Small Brothers evaporator.
