Like many Connecticut residents, I was shocked and outraged when I saw the additional charges on my latest electric bill. These fees were imposed with little to no public awareness or transparency. It feels like a betrayal—an attempt by the state’s majority party to quietly pass the cost of one of their programs onto hardworking citizens without our consent.

What’s most frustrating is the lack of accountability. The controlling party seems to believe they can impose these financial burdens without consequence, expecting us to simply accept it. This is not only unfair; it’s unacceptable.

Kathryn Russell, a Republican running for the 36th District House seat, offers a different approach. With more than thirty years of business management experience and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, Kathryn knows how to manage budgets and scrutinize spending. Her platform is built on bringing better fiscal management and accountability to Connecticut’s state programs—precisely what we need in the wake of this electric bill fiasco.

This situation underscores the importance of having leaders who are committed to transparency and responsible spending. Kathryn Russell’s message resonates deeply with me, and I believe she’s the change we need. It’s time to unplug from the current leadership’s grid and make a real difference in how our state is managed. I plan to vote for Kathryn Russell, and I urge others who are frustrated with the status quo to consider doing the same.
