It was disturbing, but not totally surprising to see a number of individuals displaying campaign banners in support of the incumbent in the White house at the Haddam Police/Patriots Rally at the Higganum Green (“Rally honors law enforcement, first responders, and military”, August 13th).
That such support for an individual who has shunned his obligations to his country and denigrated the distinguished military service of the late Senator John McCain during the Vietnam War, berated the Gold Star parents of Humayun Khan who gave his life fighting in the Iraq War, and most recently retaliated against Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, a distinguished Iraq War veteran at a rally ostensibly to honor those who serve this country is truly bewildering.
