To the Editor:
Thank you to all who donated during the Red Cross blood drive at St. Peter Church Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Despite freezing rain throughout the day, donors persevered and 32 productive units of blood were collected, exceeding the Red Cross goal of 28 units. The Red Cross reports that each unit can help up to three persons, which means that as many as 96 people may benefit.
The response is a testament to the generosity and kind-heartedness of Haddam and Killingworth residents. Even with the busy schedule of the holiday season and the foul weather conditions, people donated, which is a great example of support for the welfare of others.
The next blood drive at St Peter’s is scheduled for April 7, 2020. Merry Christmas and thank you again!
