To the Editor:
It was an exciting election season. Many good candidates ran for office, and ran vibrant, organized campaigns. Constituents engaged and showed up to the polls in record numbers in Killingworth. We had over 60% of the registered population come out and vote.
Running for office is an interesting experience. One learns about the desires of constituents, the perspective of other candidates and it’s hard to escape learning a few, new things about yourself. All in all, as imperfect as it is, it seems to work. I don’t mean to say that the “right” people win, but that the process works.
Now we govern. And, the most important thing to remember is what we learned from the process of getting elected and to use it effectively to make decisions and act on behalf of the community.
I’d like to thank everyone who came out to vote, especially in Killingworth. I’m grateful for your support and look forward to serving for four more years on the Haddam/Killingworth Regional School District Board of Education.
Honored to serve,
Suzanne Sack
