Letter to the Editor: On Behalf of the Haddam Sustainability Committee

On behalf of the Haddam Sustainability Committee, we would like to send a BIG THANK YOU to Christopher Corsa, Assistant Public Works Director, and Public Works Clerk, Bunny Batzner, for their support of the Blue Earth Compost project at the Haddam Transfer Station.  Special thanks goes also to Rick Guarino, Jessica Jascot and Gary Narducci who are the three transfer station workers you see out there in the rain and cold doing their jobs assisting you as you dump your trash and recycling  there.  They have also been given another duty, which is to monitor the Blue Earth Compost bins located next to the Swap Shack and are doing a great job with that in addition to their other duties.

Special thanks also to Robert McGarry, Kate Anderson and Sean Moriarty for their full support for this Pilot Project.  We started in December with 3 Blue Earth bins and now are up to 7! A big thank-you also goes to all the residents who are participating.  March exceeded all expectations: 4,210 lbs of Food Scraps collected! Any questions you have: HaddamSustainabilityCommittee@gmail.com.
