Do our Senators and Congressmen really care about our health care?
None of Connecticut’s Members of Congress (John Larson CT-1, Joe Courtney CT-2, Rosa DeLauro CT-3, James Himes CT-4 and Elizabeth Esty CT-5) up for re-election this Tuesday bothered to co-sponsor any of the legislation backed by the NCPA, National Community Pharmacists Association. These Congressmen are people who always claim they want to improve our health care and reduce the costs of our drugs. So why aren’t they supporting these bills?
• HB 1038 Act to Improve Transparency and Accuracy in Medicare Part D Spending
• HR 1316 Prescription Drug Price Transparency Act
• HR 1939 Act Ensuring Seniors Access to Local Pharmacies
• HR 2871 Act Preserving Patient Access to Compounded Medications
Our U.S. Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal are no better. They did not support
• Senate Bill 413, the Senate version of HR 1038
• Senate Bill 1044, the Senate version of HR 1939
Five out of the seven are up for re-election this Tuesday. Shouldn’t we hold these people accountable on election day?
