I am writing this letter in support of Suzanne Sack for reelection to the Regional School District 17 Board of Education.

Leading our Board of Education is perhaps the biggest and most important job of any within our town government.  This position holds the responsibility for managing better than 80% of our tax dollars.  More importantly, this position is responsible for our greatest asset, our children.  This includes their safety and the assurance that they will receive a high-quality education.  Suzanne has been such a leader. She has constantly proven her ability to deliver both the fiscal responsibility and quality education our school system exemplifies.

Suzanne currently serves as chairman of the Board of Education and has served in many other capacities including Treasurer and Vice Chair.  She also led or participated in several board subcommittees, including Finance, Personnel and Evaluation, and Strategic Planning.   She has made countless positive contributions to the success of our schools and in support of our community’s families.

The career experience Suzanne brings to the BoE includes senior leadership positions in several national firms in finance.  She serves as a volunteer for the South Central Regional Water Authority Board and has served in other volunteer capacities for our Library, Volunteer Fire Company and Youth and Family Services.  Suzanne holds a BA in Business from SUNY Oswego and an MA from Columbia University’s Teacher’s College.

In an area where experience really matters, Suzanne brings much of value and relevance to her position.  For this reason, I endorse Suzanne Sack for Board of Education.  Suzanne, along with Nelson Rivera and Jennifer Voegtli, will provide the leadership and talent we need to manage our school system both for the near term and for the future.

Thank you.
