Residents of the 36th House District (Chester, Deep River, Essex, and Haddam) will vote for a new state representative on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.  Renee LaMark Muir, a longtime resident of Deep River, has the legislative experience and a track record of success to represent our towns in Hartford.

Her experience as a legislative analyst in the General Assembly provides a rich background of information for developing cost-effective solutions that will meet the needs of our communities.  Affordability is a key factored in legislative decision making.  We need effective, affordable legislative decision-making.  Renee’s experience working with local, state and Federal officials will help meet that need.

She knows how important our waterways are to the local economy and health of our towns. Keeping our waterways clean and safe for recreational vehicles and residents is important to all of us and good for the economy.  We can’t afford to let pollutants affect the safety of our water infrastructure. She will focus on issues that promote healthy lakes, streams, and marsh areas that feed into the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound.

As a retired police officer with more than twenty years of experience in criminal law and policing, Renee has the skills necessary to reduce criminal activity and increase safety in our towns. She was a criminal policy analyst, a police investigator and now a volunteer responder in sexual assault crisis cases. She has firsthand knowledge of the destructive influence that crime has on a community. Those skills will be valuable assets to her when she is elected.

Renee has the professional experience, extensive local knowledge, and years of commitment to our community to represent us in the General Assembly. I urge you to vote for Renee LaMark Muir on November 5 for State Representative of the 36th district.  She knows how hard this job is and has the experience and skills to do it effectively.
