This letter is in support for State Senator Christine Cohen for re-election as State Senator of the 12th District, and Cinzia Lettieri for election as State Representative of the 35th District.
Christine Cohen is an admirable state senator who listens to constituents and works with Democrats and Republicans to deliver legislation that will benefit her district and all of Connecticut. As past Chair of the Environment Committee, she created and co-chaired the bipartisan Coastal Caucus, and worked tirelessly for the first update to our state’s bottle redemption laws since the 1970s and a ban on PFAS, toxic “forever chemicals.” As the current Chair of the Transportation Committee, she strongly supports public transportation. As a Director of River Valley Transit, I have had the privilege of working with Christine Cohen to support and promote public bus transit. She led the securing of $5 million for the Shore Line East railroad from the American Rescue Plan Act.
Cinzia Lettieri is running to represent Connecticut’s 35th House District. Cinzia has knocked on over 4,100 homes in Clinton, Killingworth and Westbrook listening to the concerns of Democrats, Republican and Unaffiliated residents and discussing priorities. Cinzia has a clear vision, determination and a steadfast commitment to public service. These qualities will make her a strong representative fighting for the well-being of our district. She has experience in local issues by serving on the Clinton Water Pollution Control and Planning and Zoning Commission. Cinzia is a teacher and passionate about education opportunities for all students. We deserve and need her representation.
Please join me in voting for the re-election of Senator Christine Cohen State Senator and for Cinzia Lettieri as Representative on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Joan Gay, Killingworth
