Letter to the Editor: In Support of Chris Aniskovich

The views stated here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the editors of this newspaper. We welcome supporting or opposing views on any published item. The letter below is a revision of an earlier letter submitted by this writer. Received November 3, 2022.

I write this letter in support of Chris Aniskovich for State Representative of the 35th district. Chris has worked with both political parties in Clinton on the Town Council, the same cannot be said about his opponent; when coming to Killingworth for a legislative update at the Killingworth Library a few months ago, Christine Goupil and Christine Cohen only invited Killingworth Democrats, indicating that those are the only voters they value. Our First Selectman was not even made aware that they would be here.

We need change in Hartford. State Representative Goupil maintains the interests of the extreme left in Hartford and not the ideals of the 35th district. Goupil votes with her party almost 100% of the time when she is present. Goupil puts politics ahead of people in an attempt to further her own career and agenda.

The current “state of our state” is not sustainable. Rising crime, the rising costs of goods and services, the rising cost of fuel oil and gasoline, a lack of affordable housing for seniors, should be first and foremost on our agenda. The Democratic party instead choses to talk about abortion and assisted suicide because they know that their policies are responsible for the situation that we now find ourselves in.

Our government has made us more unsafe than we were two and four years ago. A change is required, and Chris Aniskovich and the entire Republican slate of candidates will put people first instead of their own agenda. I will be voting for Chris and all the Republican candidates on November 8th.

Sincerely,

Graig Judge, Killingworth
