Every so often, a candidate emerges who not only understands the intricacies of community life but also possesses the practical experience to address its complex challenges. Amy Roberts-Perry, with her rich history of service and business ownership in Killingworth, is that candidate. As she steps forward to run for First Selectwoman, the town stands to benefit from a leader who embodies the Killingworth spirit in every sense.

Amy’s story in Killingworth began in 1990, and by the turn of the millennium, she had firmly established her roots by building her home here. But her entrepreneurial journey started even earlier. Since 1987, Amy has been navigating the multifaceted world of business ownership. Her
cleaning service business has provided her with firsthand experience in hiring, training, managing employees, and overseeing the financial intricacies that come with running a successful enterprise. This business acumen is invaluable, especially when addressing the complex economic challenges that small towns often face.

But Amy isn’t just a businesswoman; she’s a community servant at heart. Her involvement with the ‘Pay as You Throw Committee’ in 2004 led to tangible improvements in the town’s waste management. By championing paper and plastic recycling at the Transfer Station, she demonstrated a keen ability to find solutions that are both environmentally responsible and economically sound.

For two decades, Amy has also been a stalwart supporter of education in Killingworth. Through her work with the Killingworth Scholarship Committee, she has played a pivotal role in ensuring that the town’s youth have the financial support they need to pursue higher education.

Amy’s commitment to the community was further highlighted during the challenging times of 2020. Recognizing the urgent need for safety measures amid the pandemic, she led an initiative to provide reusable cloth masks for the Haddam-Killingworth school district. Mobilizing a vast network of volunteers, she ensured that every teacher, student, and bus driver had the necessary protection.

Amy’s steadfast dedication to civic duty is clear. Her involvement in the election process, from serving as a poll worker to her recent achievement of being appointed a state moderator in 2023, highlights her commitment to upholding election integrity and the importance of voter participation.

Amy Roberts-Perry’s unique blend of business experience and community service provides her with a holistic understanding of Killingworth’s needs. She has the practical know-how to address economic challenges, the heart to serve the community, and the vision to lead the town toward a brighter future.

Killingworth has more than just a candidate; it has a leader, a servant, and a true embodiment of the town’s spirit. As the community looks ahead, it’s clear that with Amy Roberts-Perry at the helm, Killingworth is poised for progress, growth, and resolution. We appreciate your support of Amy for First Selectwoman in the Killingworth Republican Primary set for September 12, 2023. Voting will take place at Killingworth Elementary School, 340 Route 81 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
