Letter to the Editor: Iino Brings Intelligence & Compassion

As we approach the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States, I’m feeling especially proud to cast my vote for Cathy Iino for Killingworth First Selectwoman. Cathy brings intelligence and compassion to the position. She also brings a spirit of adventure to her work. After all these years, she is still excited by new ideas about how to solve problems and improve lives.

Cathy makes me excited about Killingworth’s future. Have you ever called her with a concern or question? Then you know what I mean. Cathy’s a good listener, will take your point of view seriously, and do her best to follow through. She works at least 60 hours a week….and with enthusiasm!

Cathy collaborates well with groups of people. Whether it’s the construction of a new Emergency Operations Center or the coordination of a celebration of our town’s 350th anniversary, she brings together knowledgeable and dedicated townspeople and makes sure they have the resources they need to succeed. Meanwhile, she works with the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance to keep our taxes remarkably low, lower than those of many similar towns in the state. She knows what people love about Killingworth and it is her goal to maintain the character of this unique town.

I’m so glad she is running again.
