The town of Haddam has a duty to protect the citizens of Haddam. But after 3 years of attempting to address my issues, the town of Haddam continues to turn a blind eye.
Our family lives on a town road that has a steep hill. The town of Haddam owns a 40-foot strip of land that borders our property. We have been missing about 25 feet of curbing on this strip of town-owned property for 3 years. We have made countless calls to the select board members over this 3-year timeframe to please replace the curbing on their property. It seems to me to be a small problem that has not been addressed in over 3 years.
There is a visible gully in dry and rainy weather that has caused serious erosion, and damage to my private property. That does not speak well of the management of our town, regardless of the change of select board members.
Is the town Public Work’s Department so busy that they can not maintain the town’s own property? If this simple matter is addressed we will have no other complaints with the town. For over 30 years our family has paid taxes to the town of Haddam with the expectation that they will see to their duties.
Sincerely,
Nancy Young
