This letter is a follow-up to this letter we published in February.
Thank you so much to all of the people who have knitted, crocheted, sewn and donated much-needed warm clothing for the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, home of the Lakota Sioux.
People from Haddam, Westbrook, Killingworth, Colchester, Chester, East Haddam and Cromwell – to name a few – are helping with this project.  Our neighbors are amazing!!
For the participating senior centers and large groups, I’ll be collecting at their sites in early May, about May 5, 2022.
For those who are able to, Brainerd Memorial Library located at 920 Saybrook Road in Haddam, has generously offered its reading room area as a drop-off site.  We will be starting about April 5, 2022 and will collect donations until May 5, 2022.  There will be a table set up near the fireplace.  Please leave your name and contact information with items. If possible, please label boxes or bags with the type of items donated.
Killingworth Library, located at 301 Killingworth Turnpike (Route 81), has also generously offered its facility as well.   A collection box will be in the main area near the display case.
For those who would like to donate warm clothing or blankets, we are accepting only new items at this time.
For those who cannot get to the sites, please email me at roedennis@comcast.net and I’ll be happy to pick them up after April 15, 2022.
