Letter to the Editor: A True Level of Commitment

The views stated here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the editors of this newspaper.

A true level of commitment comes when we devote our time and energy to something that we truly want. Devoting time to show a community how deeply you want to serve the beautiful town of Killingworth is exactly what Francesco Lulaj has done. He has worked harder than any candidate this town has ever seen to show this community his desire to be the next First Selectman. Francesco has not taken one day for granted and has been steadfast in his effort to connect with each of us.   Francesco spent days walking the long roads of Killingworth knocking on over 2000 doors, talking, laughing and uniting with many new faces. I walked with Francesco and was in awe at his level of devotion. This grass roots effort was celebrated by many. Residents appreciated and valued his need to meet his neighbors. Talking with members of the community, he heard their concerns and pledged to serve them well. I have lived in this town for 22 years and understand the importance of connecting with this town through our families and this is the sincere advantage that Francesco can and will provide. Francesco has invested in this community and with that is committed and connected in all that happens here.

People have questioned how Francesco could provide the necessary amount of time to do this job, given that he has a young family and is the owner of a very successful business. My response is that is exactly why Francesco is the perfect candidate.  Francesco knows no other way but to work hard and put an unwavering effort into everything he does. His drive and focus on quality made him successful in business and will make him successful as First Selectman. The success of Killingworth and maintaining the values we all cherish ensures the success of his young family and all families in Killingworth.

Killingworth is extremely fortunate to have Francesco Lulaj running for First Selectman on November 5th I am proud to endorse Francesco and have every confidence in his effective leadership and loyalty to this beautiful town.

  1. He has never served this town is any capacity, Not on a board or a commission. Nor for the fire department or the ambulance. I fail to see, all of a sudden now that he wants personal political power and he is canvasing the town, how reiterating national talking points and false claims about taxes qualifies him to lead. His google review alone should convince people that this is nothing other than a grasp at personal power.
