KVFC and Lifestar Respond: Injured person airlifted to trauma center

By Deputy Chief Bill Shipman, KVFC

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday August 31 the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company, Killingworth Ambulance Association and a Middlesex Health Paramedic were dispatched to a residence on Route 148 for the report of an injured person from a fall.

First responders arrived on scene and found a severely injured person and the decision was made to airlift the patient by Lifestar helicopter to a trauma center.

A landing zone was established at the Killingworth Recreational Park on Parker Hill Road Extension.

The patient was transported by the Killingworth Ambulance accompanied by the Middlesex paramedic to the landing zone and was transferred to Lifestar for transport to the trauma facility.

The KVFC would like to thank all of the responders for the tremendous teamwork as well as the excellent support from Valley Shore and as always, the Killingworth Ambulance, Middlesex Health and Lifestar.
