(April 2, 2020) — I’m sorry to report that once again, cars parked in driveways have been broken into in the last few days. The most recent break-ins were on a road off Green Hill Road. One car window was broken; other cars were unlocked.
Remember:
- Do not leave your keys in your car.
- Do not to leave anything valuable in your car.
- It’s best not to leave boxes and bags that look like they might be valuable in your car.
- Call Resident Trooper Rich Mulhall at 860-663-1132 as soon as you discover a break-in.
At present, the State Police will contact you by phone, not in person, about the incident.
Editor’s Note: This is the advice that the resident troopers have given us in the past, which is always good advice:
- Always keep your vehicles locked no matter where you live and try to keep them in well-lit areas.
- Do not leave firearms in your vehicle.
- Set car alarms.
- Do not hide keys or key fobs in your vehicle.
- Consider installing or activating your vehicle GPS tracking units, i.e., On-Star.
- Do not leave your car running unattended even if it is for a few minutes.
